Help & FAQ

Quick answers about sending cards, prices and your account.

Sending

How do I send a card?
Pick a design from the card galleries (or make a DIY card with your own photo or video), add your message, then continue to checkout. Enter the recipient’s email address, choose Send now or Schedule sending, and confirm. Free cards are sent without payment; paid cards are sent once payment is confirmed.
How many people can I send to?
Petal You cards and DIY cards go to one recipient each. Invitations can go to up to 20 recipients, and each guest gets their own private link.
Can I send a card by text message?
Not yet. For now, every card and invitation is delivered by email, with a private link only your recipient can open. Sending by text message is coming later.
Can I schedule a card for later?
Yes. At checkout choose Schedule sending and pick a date, time and time zone, at least 10 minutes from now and up to 3 months ahead. Your card is delivered at that time.
Why can’t I put a link in my message?
To keep recipients safe from scams, messages, invitation titles and guest notes can’t include links or email addresses, requests for money, gift cards, passwords or codes, or threatening words. If something isn’t allowed, a note under the box shows what to take out. See the Acceptable Use Policy.
Can I change or cancel a scheduled card?
Yes, until it’s delivered. Open My Petal and use Edit schedule or Cancel delivery. Cancelling a paid card refunds it in full; cancelling a free card in the month you ordered it returns your free send. The recipient can’t be changed after checkout — to send to someone else, cancel the scheduled card and create a new one. Invitations have their own rules (see below).
My recipient didn’t get it. What can I do?
Ask them to check their spam, junk or Promotions folder for an email from Petal You (hello@petalyou.com) with a subject like “💌 Lilly sent you a card”. You can see the delivery status in My Petal. If the address was wrong, a scheduled card can be cancelled and sent again as a new card; for a card that was already sent, contact us and we’ll help.
What does my recipient receive?
An email from Petal You with your name in the subject — for example “💌 Lilly sent you a card” or, for invitations, “💌 Lilly invited you: Dinner Under the Stars”. The name comes from the From field on your card, or Hosted by on an invitation; if you leave it empty, the email says “Someone sent you a card”. The email has a button that opens the card on a private page.

Prices & free cards

How much does it cost?
Photo cards are free. Petal You video cards are $0.99. DIY video cards are $0.99 up to 30 seconds and $2.99 for 31–60 seconds. Photo invitations are free for up to 10 guests. See all prices on the Pricing page.
Is there a limit on free cards?
Yes. Each account can send 5 free cards or invitations per calendar month (Arizona time), and your free sends reset on the 1st. One order counts as one send, even an invitation to 10 guests. Scheduled cards count in the month you order them. You can see how many you have left in My Petal and at checkout. Paid cards are never limited.
What is Free Card of the Month?
Each month, selected video cards are free to send. You’ll find them on the Free Cards page with a “Free this month” badge. They’re free when delivered by the date shown; choosing a later delivery date makes them $0.99.
Can I get a refund?
If you cancel a paid scheduled card before it’s delivered, you’re refunded automatically. Duplicate charges and problems on our side are refunded too. Delivered cards aren’t refundable. See the Refund Policy.
How do I pay?
Paid cards and invitations are paid on Stripe’s secure checkout page, which opens in a new tab. Pay by card, or with Apple Pay or Google Pay on supported devices. Petal You never sees or stores your card number. Your card is sent once the payment is confirmed.

DIY cards & invitations

What can I upload for a DIY card?
A photo (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB) or a video (MP4 or WebM, up to 60 seconds and 50 MB). Only upload content you own or have permission to use.
Can I change or cancel a scheduled invitation?
Yes, in My Petal. You can change the send time up to 3 times, at least 3 days before it’s sent. Cancel any time before it’s sent for a full refund (free invitations get the free send back). After it’s sent, you can change or cancel the event and your guests are emailed. See the Refund Policy.
How do invitations and RSVPs work?
Each guest gets a private link where they can reply Going, Maybe or Can’t make it. You can see every reply in My Petal under View guest replies.

On your phone

Can I put Petal You on my phone’s home screen?
Yes. It works like an app icon: one tap opens Petal You, with nothing to download.

iPhone or iPad (Safari): tap the Share button (if you don’t see it, tap ••• first), scroll down, tap Add to Home Screen. If you see Open as Web App, switch it off so Petal You opens in Safari and you stay signed in, then tap Add.

Android (Chrome): tap the ⋮ menu, tap Add to Home screen (on some phones Install or Create shortcut), then Add.

Links & privacy

Can my recipient download the card?
Recipients can save a shareable copy of Petal You cards. For DIY cards, you choose whether downloads are allowed. Invitations can’t be downloaded.
How do I delete a card or my account?
In My Petal, use Delete on a card or invitation that has been sent or cancelled. This deletes its photo or video, message, recipients and replies for good, and the recipient’s link stops working. A scheduled card must be cancelled first. To delete your whole account, or to download a copy of your data, scroll to Your account & data at the bottom of My Petal.
How do I report something?
Recipients can use Report this card on any card. For copyright concerns, see Copyright / DMCA.
