Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Not allowed
- Harassment, threats, stalking, coercion, doxxing, impersonation, fraud, phishing, extortion, or deceptive messages.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual exploitation or sexual content involving minors, or other illegal sexual content.
- Content that promotes or facilitates serious illegal activity, or content that violates another person's privacy, publicity, intellectual-property, or other legal rights.
- Malware, malicious files, attempts to exploit or disrupt Petal You, credential attacks, or attempts to bypass payment, access, moderation, or security controls.
- Unauthorized bulk messaging, spam, scraping recipient data, or using recipient contact information for unrelated marketing.
- Uploading content you do not have the right to use or instructing Petal You to deliver content to a person in violation of applicable law.
- Creating multiple accounts, using automation, or otherwise trying to get more than 5 free sends per month or get around pricing, recipient or scheduling limits.
- Sending text messages to people who have not agreed to receive them, or continuing to message someone who has asked you to stop (once text delivery is available, recipients can opt out by replying STOP).
Automatic checks on names and messages
To protect recipients from scams and impersonation, Petal You checks some text automatically before a card or invitation can be sent:
- Sender and host names can’t include company or brand names, words like “bank”, “account” or “verify”, links, or email addresses.
- Card messages, invitation titles and guest notes can’t include links (including short links), email addresses, requests for money, gift cards or crypto, requests for passwords, PINs or verification codes, threats, or offers of illegal drugs.
If something isn’t allowed, the page shows what to take out before you can continue. Text that gets past these checks is removed before delivery, and the card or invitation is sent without it. These checks don’t catch everything, and they don’t replace the rules above.
Reports
Recipients can use “Report this card” to report spam, harassment, impersonation, illegal content, copyright concerns, or other abuse. Copyright claims should also use the Copyright / DMCA process where applicable.
Enforcement
Petal You may disable links, cancel pending deliveries, remove content, restrict or terminate accounts, preserve evidence where legally appropriate, and refer matters to providers or authorities when reasonably necessary. Enforcement decisions may consider severity, context, repeat behavior, legal obligations, and risk to users or the service.
